AMISH FRIENDSHIP BREAD

 

(Do not refrigerate until after baking.)

 

Day 1 – Do nothing to starter bag.

Day 2 – Mush bag, do not open.

Day 3 – Mush bag, do not open.

Day 4 – Mush bag, do not open.
Day 5 – Mush bag, do not open.

Day 6 – Add 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, and 1 cup milk to bag, mush bag.

Day 7 – Mush bag, let air out.

Day 8 – Mush bag, let air out.

Day 9 – Mush bag, let air out.

Day 10 – Add 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup milk to bag and stir with a wooden spoon

Or mush bag until blended. Pour 4 1 cup starters into gallon size Ziploc bags and

Give to friends; remember to keep 1 bag for yourself.

 

Put remaining contents of original bag into a big bowl and combine with:

1 cup oil

½ cup milk

3 eggs

1 tsp. Vanilla

 

Mix well, then add:

2 cups flour

1 cup sugar

½ tsp. Salt

1 ½ tsp. Baking powder

2 tsp. Cinnamon

1 large box instant vanilla pudding

½ tsp. Baking soda

 

Mix well. Grease 2 large loaf pans or 1 bundt pan (may use non-stick cooking spray). Mix

3 Tbsp. Sugar and 1 tsp. Cinnamon together and coat baking pan with ¾ of this mixture. Pour batter into pan(s) and sprinkle remainder of mixture on top of batter before baking. Bake one hour @ 325 degrees for bundt pan.
